Video Poker is a popular game that is able to be played in casinos all over the globe, or alternatively at home on your PC, through a net account. The regulations are very straightforward and consist of the player attempting to achieve the highest combination of cards achievable in order to come away with money. In this respect it is very similar as a regular game of poker, without the involvement with other players. Of course, methods employed during a real-life game of poker, like tricking, will be irrelevant in Video Poker.
The game of Electronic Poker starts when the gambler inserts credits (either tokens, credit slips or money) into the machine and presses the play button. A five card hand will then be "distributed" on the video screen.
The Video Poker game also has buttons with ‘hold’ written on them, and bettors will need to now choose which cards to keep and which to throw away. For the cards the bettor would like to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons must be pressed so that they light up. The player can choose to keep any number of cards they want, from all to none.
After the bettor has selected which cards she would like to retain, the player will then press ‘draw’, at which point any fresh cards are needed they will be given out. The hand is now finished, with the Electronic Poker machine scanning the hand to see if it matches any of the winning hands printed on the pay out schedule.
Normally, the lowest winning hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money getting larger for each better hand. A list of common winning hands starts with jacks or better, and moves on to two pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It should be known that the payout schedule can vary from game to game, so that knowledgeable players are agile enough to pick the most beneficial ones each time.
As soon as the initial round has finished, the player can either choose to stay on in an attempt to maximize their winnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any money that they may have won. Additionally, a few versions of the game allow the gambler a chance to double their profits, in which situation another round is played. There are also differences among specific games, with some virtual decks including wild cards and other varying aspects to increase playability.
