Video Poker is a beloved game that usually will be wagered on in casinos across the globe, or in your house on your PC, through a net account. The game rules are very straightforward and involve the player attempting to achieve the highest combination of cards as you can in order to win cash. In this respect it’s much the same as a classic game of poker, minus the involvement with competing players. Of course, tactics employed during a real-life game of poker, like bluffing, will be irrelevant in Video Poker.
The game of Video Poker starts when the player inserts credits (either tokens, tickets or cash) into the video poker machine and presses the play button. A hand of 5 cards will be "distributed" on the screen.
The Video Poker machine also has hold buttons, and enthusiasts should now pick which cards to keep and which to throw away. For the cards the player wishes to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons should be pressed so that they light up. The player can choose to keep any number of cards they wish, from all to none.
After the player has chosen which cards she would like to retain, the player will then press ‘draw’, at which point any fresh cards will be dealt if desired. The game is now completed, with the Video Poker machine analyzing the hand to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands shown on the payment schedule.
Normally, the lowest winning hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money getting larger for each better hand. A common list of winning hands starts with jacks or better, moving on to 2 pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It goes without saying that the payment schedule can vary from game to game, so that discerning bettors are agile enough to select the most money-making ones each and every time.
After the first round has completed, the player can either choose to remain on in an attempt to maximize their earnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any cash that has been won. Additionally, several versions of the game give the bettor an opportunity to double their wins, in which instance another round is played. There are also variations between specific games, with some virtual decks including wild cards and other varying elements to enhance playability.
