Electronic Poker is a beloved game that is able to be gambled on in casinos throughout the world, or in your house on your home computer, using an Internet connection. The regulations are very simple and consist of the player trying to achieve the best combination of cards achievable in order to win money. On this account it’s very similar as a regular game of poker, minus the interaction with any other players. Of course, methods used in a physical game of poker, like bluffing, will be useless here.
The game of Video Poker starts when the gambler puts credits (either tokens, tickets or money) into the video poker machine and pushes the play button. A hand of five cards will then be electronically ‘distributed’ on the video screen.
The Electronic Poker machine also has buttons with ‘hold’ printed on them, and players should now pick which cards to hold and which to throw away. For the cards the bettor would like to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they light up. The player can choose to keep any number of cards they want, from all to none.
After the bettor has selected which cards she would like to retain, the player will then press ‘draw’, which will mean that any new cards are given out if desired. The round is now finished, with the Electronic Poker machine scanning the hand to see if it matches any of the winning hands shown on the payment schedule.
Typically, the lowest winning hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money growing for each and every better hand. A list of common winning hands starts with jacks or better, moving on to 2 pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It definitely goes without saying that the pay out schedule can range from machine to machine, so that discerning enthusiasts are able to choose the most beneficial machine each and every instance.
After the initial round has played out, the player can either choose to stay on in an attempt to increase their earnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any credits that they may have won. Further, a few versions of the game allow the player a chance to double their winnings, in which case a further round is played. There are also variations among individual games, with some virtual decks having wild cards and other differing characteristics to enhance playability.
